Li Po

Now before I tell you about the bar, let me tell you a little something about the Man. Yes, that's right, Li Po was actually a Chinese philosopher/poet who lived in the Tang dynasty. He apparently loved his wine, and enjoyed a carefree life while travelling all over China.
His most famous poem, Drinking Alone under the Moon, describes his feeble attempts to cajole the moon into sharing some spirits and good company. But to no avail, it ends with a separation:
We separate apart after getting drunkSounds like many a familiar night during bachelorhood.
Forever will we keep this unfettered friendship
Till we meet again far in the Milky Way
Li Po eventually died a vagabond, a wanderer, but he died happy...from alcohol poisoning.

oh the lipo...
is it frequented by mafia types?
why do they continue to host punk shows in the most amazing fire hazard that is their basement?
why don't more people frequent this gem of china town?
a perfect sf-dbo selection.
